Advocating in Action
I am truly invested in Moorhead and Ward 1, specifically. We have such a diverse population with many different talents and strengths. I am not an expert politician by any means but I consider myself a well-seasoned advocate. I have dedicated my career to advocating for those without a voice and hope to do the same for Ward 1. I hope to work for the residents of Moorhead to influence positive change and celebrate our beautiful community! I currently serve as the Secretary Commissioner for the Moorhead Public Housing Agency Board where I was appointed by Mayor Judd in 2019 to serve residents in Moorhead living within the subsidized housing sector. I recently led the implementation of a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee within my agency and we are committed to learning about and addressing systematic forms of oppression within our agency. In turn, our efforts will contribute to a more just Moorhead. I am an appointed member of the MN Department of Human Services (DHS) Human Services Performance Council which provides feedback and oversight to county and tribal agencies in MN to ensure that Minnesotans are receiving quality services from our state department. In all of my roles, I have been committed to advocating for those whose voices often go unheard such as low-income Minnesotans, People of Color, those experiencing housing insecurities, and persons in recovery. I am committed to bringing my leadership and advocacy to the City Council as Moorhead's Ward 1 representative.
